I've decided to give up writing this blog.
There is more that I cannot write than that which I can. Someone whose judgment I respect, and who knows me well, said to me this morning, "People I know have stopped reading your blog and have asked me how I can be friends with someone who is so shallow?"
It made me realize that by presenting mostly the trivial, I must come across that way. And so I'll stop.
Thank you all for reading my blog, for commenting, and supporting me. I enjoyed the ride, and hope you got some pleasure from it too.
The poss I read were never shallow. They were fun, insightful, heartfelt. But not shallow.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Why let the nasty comments of one person influence the creativity and unique voice you embody on this blog? Blogs, like books are not meant for everyone. They are the author's special platform for his or her own creativity and vantage point. Over 100,000 people have read your blog, so why let the opinions of one have such a profound influence? Haters hate. So be it. A chef doesn't close a restaurant because one unhappy customer sends a meal back as inedible. Why would you allow that person such undue influence? Perhaps take a mental break and refresh, but then promise to come back. You will be missed by too many otherwise.
