I meet again with Dr. Hayashi.
She shows me my MRI-ed foot and explains what it all means.
I have a small chip on the cuneiform bone, on the underside of my right foot —impossible to see in an x-ray. I also have continued swelling from a contusion in the area, and a Lisfranc ligament sprain. The sprain is the likely culprit for the pain, not the small fracture.
She suggests a pair of hard-inserts for several weeks inside comfortable, hard-soled shoes (think sneakers).
No boot. No cast. No limping around. I'm grateful.
