My sister recently gave me a folder of photos she found at my mom's house. Among them were some old school headshots and some that were professionally taken.
I look at them and think, OMG. how NOT cute was I?
My dad used to insist on cutting my bangs and some of our biggest fights had to do with my hair. "You are such a pretty girl," he would say. "But no one can see your face with your hair in your eyes."
While I vehemently disagreed with him, and hated some of the bowl cuts he would give me (ala Moe of The Three Stooges fame), I look at the photos now and think, maybe he was right about my bangs.

And a year after college where I thought hair maybe mattered less (and I had a closet full of clothes not dominated by neutrals).
Love these pics, Lyn. Brings back so many memories of how we once looked and felt about how we looked. You were always so beautiful and I was so envious in high school of your beauty, given that we were cousins...same age....same grade...Although, the 4th pic down does remind me of a pic of me around 2nd or 3rd grade. But we diverged in appearance after that. Thanks for sharing these memories....Karen

ReplyDeleteCome on, you could never be uncut. I would guess your Dad's message was be aware of and take pride in your grooming, you will always look nice. So, to this day with hair stylists and their care you continue to look great.Outstandingly so!
