Making this legal:
Delivery
people should be required to wear identifying numbers on neon-colored jackets
and the name of the vendor they represent.
This way, if you get hit by a delivery person (as I almost did
recently), you know who to call and complain. So many bike riders (and there
are many, since Citi Bikes was introduced this summer) ignore driving
laws. They zip through red lights. They ride on the sidewalk. They make right turns on red (illegal in
Manhattan). They stop in the middle of
the sidewalk and ride back and forth waiting for the light to change. They ride
the wrong way down one-way streets. And
no one tickets them. I’m surprised I
haven’t seen anyone texting yet while biking.
And making
this illegal:
Anyone
running for office should not be allowed to use robo-calling to reach
voters. Today I receive nine calls
asking me to vote for a particular candidate or bill. It’s intrusive, obnoxious, and most likely
ignored. How can anyone think this is a
good idea?
