wow! just like new

I buy an Amazon Local coupon for $35 ($89 value) from On Time Carpet Cleaning (http://www.nycsteamcleaning.com).  They promise to steam clean my carpets up to 700 square feet. Sounds like a good deal.

A week before my coupon is set to expire, I call to make an appointment.  "I'm sorry, we're booked through June," I'm told.  I can't believe this.  Before I even have a chance to get upset, David says, "But don't worry,  we'll honor your coupon; we just can't do it this week."  So we set a date for today.

Ruben and his crew arrive on time.  "These are not carpets, these are rugs.  The coupon you bought was for steam cleaning wall-to-wall carpets."  "But the coupon doesn't say that?  And besides, aren't the words rugs and carpet interchangeable?"  Ruben tells me they're not, just as I'm about to google the difference.  Then he says, "But not a problem.  We'll do them."  He looks through my apartment at the two big rugs in the living room and bedroom, and the smaller ones in Alexander's room and the dining area.  He notes, correctly, that my light colored rug is pretty stained (from the chair with roller feet near my desk).  I had tried to clean it but made it worse.

Ruben tells me he's not sure about getting all the stains out but he'll do his best.  He is very professional, asks all the right questions, and clearly knows his job well. But when he suggests that for $50 more, he can use a deeper cleaning machine that will really help, I am skeptical. Still, I say yes.

He goes back to his truck, and returns with a co-worker and a giant-sized mother of a machine.  He turns it on and it sounds like a street sweeping truck has entered my apartment.

Ruben starts in my room.  Less than ten minutes later he comes into the living room and asks me if I'd like to take a look.  "Already?" I ask.  "Ya, the machine does most of the work."  I go in my room and I'm astounded.  Most of the stains are out and the rug looks great.

The rest of the apartment takes about a half hour, and the results are fantastic.

I hope to use this service every four months or so.  Even without the coupon, at $100, it's worth  every penny!

Thank you Ruben.
