oh wow, love this!

Every now in then I write about some products I really really like

Given that it's the holiday season, I thought I'd write about some recent purchases that are worthy of a strong endorsement. They'd all make for great gifts... either to your self or someone else.

These Alicia Adams throws are great, and normally are priced much higher.

I love the feel and look. M and I fell in love with these a few years ago at some Design Show in NY.

Ok,this may not be a great gift, but worth getting if you hate having a million trillion cable wires hanging out under your desk.

The Yamazaki site is full of great organizing things...if you are obsessed with organizing (like I am).

And maybe you know of these sweaters. I'm generally a cashmere-snob, but these are really great quality and right now pretty affortable. I bought Alexander a luxe cashmere hoodie that was so nice, I bought myself a cropped hoodie.

And then I think this thing is great if you want to charge your iphone and Apple watch at the same time For some reason I've had a problem charging my AirPods, but still love the sleekness and simplicity.

I've bought several on this site Twelve South and have never been disappointed.

Everyone probably already knows about Bombas socks, but just in case...these are the only ones I wear now; I threw all my others out. I like the ankle length. In fact, the colors are so great I want to buy socks even when I don't need them.

And finally, I have a collection of insulated mugs and these are my favorites:

This Contigo for keeping cold drinks cold...over 24 hours, at least.

And the Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug for kepping drinks hot. I made boiling tea around 4pm and the next morning I burned my tongue on it. And...as confirmation... I just now read that the NYT rated it the best travel mug. "After a decade of testing travel mugs, we still recommend the Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug for most people. It keeps drinks hot for hours, and its locking lid stays securely closed, even when you toss the mug into a bag."

Let me know if you try (or have) any of these. I'd love knowing.

(Also, for those of you who do write comments on this blog, please say who you are as most come up — rather strangely — as Anonymous. Thanks.)

Addendum:

How could I have forgotten this from my list? While at M's this summer, I  became enamored with her colorful vinyl placemats. In the past, I've tried all sorts of expensive placemats that ... while beautifull initially... inevitably became embedded with food stains. These mats are inexpensive, fun, and most important, easy to keep clean.

  3. Because I'm in the eight decade of living, it's fun to look back on my years. First, I remember your lovely mother Phyllis when I babysat for you and your sisters Leslie and baby Jeanie when you lived in Brockton. I must say that your mom is still beautiful, but you, Lynn, look just like her!
When I was in your home, Lynn, you loved to dance around the house, Leslie had a missing- tooth smile and was very social, and Jeanie was just a baby with blond curls. Sometimes after school we four would walk from your two- story colonial house through the neighborhood streets to visit and buy ice cream at Producers Dairy. There was even one summer when I accompanied you and your family on a one- week vacation to Cape Cod. I had a wonderful time supervising you kids in the swimming pool, babysitting, and taking strolls down the quaint streets with Jeannie. Because of my blonde hair, your mother often said that Jeannie and I could be mistaken for mother and daughter.
Later, when I became sixteen, I relinquished my babysitting duties and worked at my neighborhood drugstore called Professional Pharmacy as a soda jerk putting in about thirty hours after school , nights, and weekends to save up enough money to become a teacher at Framingham State University. I lived on campus and came home weekends Friday night- Sunday afternoon to continue to make money at the drugstore. Holidays and the next summers of my college years were also spent waitressing at the local Brockton restaurant, Leonard's. Whew, I saved just enough money to make it through college, and it was money well -spent as I made teaching my career.
I married my husband Rollie (58 married years now) shortly after a year of engagement, have one son, Rob, moved to Atlanta, GA, for 30 years, and have retired to Englewood, FL, now for 21 years.

After Hurricane Milton "blew" through our beaches , our protected barrier island called Manasota Key is just devastated.
You can view the destruction on many drone podcasts on YouTube. My community called Boca Royale Golf and C.C. fared well with power and water outages for one to two days and some broken, fallen tree limbs scattering our lawns.
Matter of fact , husband Rollie just hugged me before leaving to play another game of golf this week while I spent yesterday as a Visiting Volunteer Science teacher to all the 100 third graders at Englewood Elementary School. This volunteer job brings me much joy and I've been volunteer teaching ever since I retired to FL at 60 so that adds up to 21 years. These nine-year-olds are wonderful and such a change from my 30 years of instructing gifted teenagers (gr. 7-9) in English and science.
Well, let me take a pause and I was interviewed by the local newspaper, Englewood Review, December 7, 2018, pp.14-15, Notable Neighbors, written by Dean Laux.( Goggle= Sherer Norberg Miller) Dean did a great job piecing together in his creative manner more details than is written here.
Please wish you mother a Happy Birthday from me and a big hello to your sisters.
    Much love and many hugs,
    Sherer (Norberg) Miller
