Alexander is back at school.
I am afraid to leave my
house for fear of spending money.
I sit in front of my
computer wondering who I can contact, yet again, for employment. I think of one person and write to her.
I clean, and re-clean, my
apartment.
I do not walk. It is raining outside, though of course if it
were sunny I’d have another excuse.
I eat little, at least
compared to previous days. After a big
dinner last night (Atlantic Grill with Valerie and Abbey), my baggy lululemon
pants do not feel baggy today.
I compare health care plans
with my brother-in-law, as this came up at dinner last night. I am paying 43% more than his corporate plan and I get fewer benefits and have a higher co-pay.
I play many games of Words
With Friends as my program is not crashing today. I get 89 points for a 7-letter word, UPENDED.
Thrilling.
I make a dinner using what
is in the house: quinoa and brown rice
with sautéed vegetables of bright colored peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It is more than passable.
My gorgeous ball fan/light
from The Fan Company broke after eight months use; its replacement arrives
today. I have been without living room
light for over two weeks, so this is the most exciting part of my day (even
though it is not up yet; that’s something Mike, my handyman, has to do, and who
knows when he’ll be available).
In short, I have little to
write about today.
