a few small things that make me smile today

• A forecast that portends lots of snow this weekend.

• Spending just $8 for an iPad cable (by Xtreme) that is 5 feet long (vs. the standard 3) and allows me to keep my phone charged while I lie in bed and play WWF.

• Discovering a new, great brand of coffee called Stumptown.

• Getting a nice reject letter from an online job I applied for that was personal and kind and showed some interest…versus the usual no response at all. 

• Noticing my living room rug needs to be professionally cleaned again (last time was October 2011), and calling ABC Carpet and Home and being told by Laurie that she will give my 10% off my last price just for being a repeat customer.

• Accidentally finding a two-year old All Saints gift certificate for $50 that I thought I'd lost.

• Stepping on the scale and seeing I’m down one pound since returning from Boston.
