Today I meet the woman who runs the Eastside branch
of a major real estate firm. Janice’s office is only a short walk away, so
despite the snowstorm, we agree to keep the appointment we made last week.
I immediately like Janice. She is funny, genuine, self-effacing, and
warm. We share many interests, have
similar tastes (she is wearing the same Postcard coat I own and the same LV
scarf). By the end of our meeting, I feel like I’ve known Janice for years, not
minutes. She tells me she would love for
me to come work in her office. I am
thrilled, and will very likely say yes.
But I do have a couple of more interviews scheduled and told her I’d get
back to her soon.
I am anxious to embark on this new career, and
nervous too. A friend recently asked,
“If this doesn’t work out, what is your back-up plan?” I didn't say what I was thinking.
