sink-shopping

Last time M visited she mentioned my bathroom, as in, “I think it needs an update.”  She is so right, but I am limited.  I live in a rental, and the building management is not eager to improve my bathroom.  Hey, the sink works, the toilet flushes, and the bathtub holds water.

But through a stroke of somewhat good luck (if you call a bug-infested vanity good luck), I am able to get a new sink.

I go to get something in my bathroom vanity and this is what I see on the vanity's floor.

Little dead black bugs everywhere.  I show my super.  He shocks me by saying I can get a new pedestal sink.  I am told to go to Home Depot and pick one out.  Instead I go online.

I spend hours looking at sinks. This is my favorite of the ones Home Depot offers. Nice, but not fabulous.

I enlist M in my search.  We find this one at Restoration Hardware which I like better than the Kohler one at Home Depot, though it costs a little bit.

But then she shows me hers. The one I’ve used a million times and never noticed.  Now I notice it and fall in love.

Small problem:  It’s not sold by Home Depot and it costs more than any sink the store sells.  I’ll have to be very very convincing.  I know it’ll take more than a few little bugs to win this one, but I’ll try.
