rainy day

I step outside and I’m in the world’s greatest city.  But temptation is everywhere.  I see clothes I want to buy.  Furniture I need.  Incredible restaurants beckoning me with their outdoor menus.  I also have no steady income.  So today I stay in and start a blog.  Having no theme provides no focus.  And describing what I did today when I did nothing of significance is not very interesting.  But I’ll try.

In an effort to save money, or rather, to spend less, I make burgers for dinner.  I spend nothing on entertainment, amusing myself with reading (Carry the One by Carol Anshaw, beautifully written but not terribly compelling), set up meetings with potential clients for an online product I’m developing (http://consolidoc.sharedbook.com/consolidoc/ )play Words With Friends (my new addiction; I have 21 active games with 10 friends, some of whom I used to work with and haven’t seen or spoken to in almost 15 years), and watch Modern Family with my son, when he isn’t accusing me of nagging him (or to use his words, “chirping” or “squawking” at him.  I’m guilty of the exact thing I accuse my son of:  wasting too much time.
