Alexander decides to begin
eating healthy again. We go to Costco
and he shuns many of the things I suggest for him: the frozen Angus burgers, Food Should Taste
Good chips, chocolate covered pomegranates, and mini-chocolate croissants.
Instead, he wants a big bag of broccoli, two 8-packs of whole-wheat pasta, multi-colored
peppers, whole wheat bread, almond butter (vs. the less healthy peanut butter),
and yogurt.
He doesn't like the look of
the excellent chicken with tomatoes I have picked up at Agata and instead makes his own pasta dinner. I’m in the other
room when he calls to me, “My multi-racial pasta looks great.” I have no idea what he’s talking about.
I come in, and he shows
me: a huge pasta bowl (big enough for
three) of whole-wheat pasta mixed with the remains of a box of regular pasta. They blend together perfectly.
