how to load a dishwasher

Warning:   this is probably of no interest to most.

I was just watching a dish-loading expert from Reader’s Digest (a job I'd never apply for).  Here are her tips, for those few who may care, on how to load a dishwasher:

  • Lately I’ve been sorting silverware as I load.  Don’t.  It is better to put the silverware in haphazardly.
  • Knives face down; spoons and forks face up.
  • Dishes should NOT be rinsed, as today’s dishwashing detergent doesn’t work as well without finding grime on the dishes.
  • Glasses and cups go on the prongs, not between them.
  • In older model dishwashers, face dishes toward the center where most of the water hits.

Fascinating, I know.
