random stuff

My mom showed me how to make corn easily and deliciously and without any mess.  Just put an ear in the microwave for two minutes.  Don’t peel it.  When it’s done, it will peel easily and be perfectly cooked.

While in Massachusetts, I discovered these little silicone things called Lily Pads by Charles Viancin.  Amazon sells them.
They come in all different sizes, can tightly seal smooth-rimmed glasses or bowls, are easy to clean, can be used in the microwave to prevent food from splattering, and are inexpensive and adorable.

Am I the last person to learn how to take a screen shot with an iPhone?  My 16-year old nephew showed me.  Just hit the home bottom and sleep buttons at the same time.  The captured image is immediately added to Camera Roll.

And finally, you gotta love Amazon.  Last April I buy a 50-ounce Mist Glass Ice Tea Jug by Forlife.  I love its sleek lines and functionality.  I use it all the time.

Yesterday it shatters.  Glass everywhere.  I call Amazon late yesterday afternoon.  They replace it for free.  The new one arrives today.
