up to maine and down to wrentham

After our psychic readings, M and I return to the very quiet streets of Portsmouth.

We do find a great little eyeglass place where M finds the perfect pair, and I buy some sunglasses.

M and I have lunch at a highly recommended place.  More than three people tell us about some brewery in town.  "Everything is fresh.  The ingredients are not what you'd expect at a brewery  It's the best."

It is dreadful.  M's veggie burger is inedible.

We've exhausted our interest in Portsmouth. So we drive to nearby Maine to go to the Barbour outlet.

Again, we find ourselves the only customers in the store.  "Everywhere we go, we seem to be the only humans," M observes.  It makes shopping easier but it is a little creepy.  After spending more than an hour at Barbour, taking pictures and sending them to various family members asking if they would like/need this or that jacket, we leave.

Back in the car I get a text from Bolt Bus.  Due to another snowstorm expected in Boston tomorrow, all buses have been cancelled.  No problem, except all buses for Thursday are now full. Great.  I have a good excuse to take the train home.

One can't go to Maine without getting lobster.  I do a Google search and find the best place to buy lobster meat.  It's $34.95/pound — vs. $60/pound in New York.  M is both a good driver and navigator.  We find the lobster place without too much of a problem.

On the way back from Maine, we stop at a Whole Foods to shop in case we are snowed in tomorrow.  We drop the groceries off at M's, then jump back in the car to drive a half hour south to the Wrentham Outlets.  In anticipation of tomorrow's big storm, no cars are on the road.  We get to Wrentham and no people are in the stores.  We have a quick dinner at Cracker Barrel (a first for me); we are the only diners.

We are back at M's after eleven, having shopped and eaten our way through half of the New England states.
