shopping in paris

I get an email from M yesterday.

No Internet service.  Get me the addresses for:

Celine

Louis Vuitton

Chloe

Goyard

I am near the Louvre museum. Rue St Honore is a few blocks from here.

Champs Elysées is further away.

I find the information M is seeking and send it.

Today I get another email asking the price here for a specific Louis Vuitton bag.  I send that too.

Later I get a call, my first I think, from Paris.  It’s M.  It turns out that even though the dollar is stronger than it’s been in recent years against the euro, there are still no big bargains.  The Goyard bag is only 8% less in Paris than it is here.  The Louis Vuitton tote and leopard stole are about 17% less — better but not great.  I’m more relieved than disappointed.

Still, Paris in springtime would be nice.
